A recent engineering study has identified that the protection required for a safe harbour could be achieved by a wave screen which:

• Is located within the existing harbour
• Would enable a mooring area of no greater size that that of the existing swing moorings
• Would enable a safe mooring area for approximately 180 boats
• Enables safe casual mooring within, and also outside the new berthing pens
• provides new public and disabled access and facilities
• Provides protection for existing public boat launching ramp in all weather conditions
• Will create a safe overnight destination for boats visiting Mornington.
